The Krysta Hankee Memorial Fund is proud to sponsor this golf outing in support of the Gift of Life Family House. This is also an opportunity for organ and tissue recipients, living donors and donor families to celebrate the gift. The golf outing is in memory of Krysta Hankee who passed away in 2007 and had "Organ Donor" designated on her driver's license. She saved five lives through organ donations, gave sight to two people through corneal transplants and donated two small patches of skin to the New York FireFighter's Skin Bank. We are proud of her decision and hope to raise awareness of organ donation and support the Family House and their efforts to care for organ recipients and their families.

A Mulligan on life is very rare...

Jackson, now 10 years old, was born with a rare liver disease, Biliary Atresia. His life consisted of countless visits to doctors and hospitals for blood tests, transfusions and various other procedures. His condition eventually worsened to a critical stage and he was admitted to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia December of 2003. The prayers of family and friends were answered weeks later when Jack received a new liver from an enlightened, caring family whose one-year-old child had died. Unfortunately, a blood clot damaged Jackson's new liver, and another transplant was required.
Now the good news: Jack's second "Angel" appeared, giving him yet another chance. It is now more than eight years later and Jackson is enjoying a normal life. Jackson and his parents owe the donors and their families a debt of gratitude, as do all of us who witnessed his transformation into a happy and healthy child. Jackson's infectious laugh and devilish smile now light up any room and remind us all that we have witnessed the ultimate gift anyone can give another - The miracle of Life!
