A note from event organizer, Lynn Fallon -

"George and Jack Steinmetz were fortunate to receive a liver transplant. While the course was not easy, it allowed all of us to spend much more time with them, celebrating many birthdays, graduations, and anniversaries. None of this would have been possible without the families that were kind enough to donate their loved one's organs at the time of their death and so we are eternally grateful to them."

A Hero's Grand Slam Event

Time & Place

8:00 pm
the Shops at Liberty Place: 1625 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19103

“A Hero’s Grand Slam” will be a great evening filled with Fun, Food and Good Times as we celebrate Sean Clegg and his amazing Gifts of Life! Sean was a 14-year-old Seneca High School student who was struck by a car on August 24, 2008 while riding his bike with his brother, Brian. They were on their way home for Sunday dinner. When the doctors and nurses at Cooper Hospital were unable to save Sean’s life, his parents Andy and Gail, courageously decided to donate all of Sean’s organs. They successfully donated six organs to others, providing them the Gift of Life.

The Clegg’s will be joined in hosting this event by some of Sean’s organ recipients. Melissa (kidney), Mercedes (kidney) and Stefania (heart) will be there to celebrate the evening. Their lives have changed dramatically since receiving the Gift of Life. Melissa now works at Hahnemann Hospital promoting organ transplantation. Mercedes recently traveled to Colombia to visit the family she has not seen in 12 years because of her illness. Stefania is the first woman to give birth to twins after a heart transplant.

Please celebrate the Gift of Life by attending this event…becoming an event sponsor…and/or donating a gift for auction. In an effort to bring awareness to everyone, Gail currently volunteers over 60 hours a month speaking at schools and organizations about her family’s experience with organ donation. The choice to donate can make a difference in the lives of others.
